Deploy compact industrial computing power with the 10″ Capacitive Touch PC i5-1145G7E (Large Case) — a small-footprint, high-spec touch PC engineered for industrial automation, control panels, and HMI applications where compute performance matters as much as form factor. The 9.7″ XGA display in 4:3 aspect ratio is specifically suited to traditional industrial HMI software and SCADA interfaces designed before widescreen became standard, paired with a 10-point capacitive multi-touch panel, IP65 front protection, and faytech’s Clear Bond® optical bonding.

Unlike the more common Atom-based industrial touch PCs in this size class, this platform is powered by a genuine Intel® Core™ i5-1145G7E (Tiger Lake U) industrial vPro processor with 8 GB DDR4 RAM and a 240 GB SSD — meaningfully more compute headroom for demanding industrial software, modern web-based HMI applications, and multi-application workloads. Industrial connectivity is comprehensive: dual Gigabit Ethernet, Wi-Fi, 4× USB ports, dual RS-232 COM ports for legacy industrial equipment, and a SIM card slot for cellular options. The modular Front Kit + Back Kit design supports independent service replacement. Wide 9-36V DC power input enables PoE deployment (upon request) or alternative DC power sources. Pre-installed Debian 12; Linux Ubuntu and Windows 10/11 available on request.

The 10″ Capacitive Touch PC I5-1145G7E (Large Case) is faytech's high-performance compact industrial touch PC — engineered for the deployment scenarios where a small-footprint touch interface needs serious compute power behind it: industrial automation control stations, manufacturing line HMI panels, process equipment local interfaces, mobile equipment dashboards, medical equipment integrated displays, and any commercial deployment where 21.5″ touch PCs are too large but Atom-class compute platforms aren't enough. The combination of a small 244.9 × 195.8 mm chassis footprint with a genuine Intel® Core™ i5 industrial processor is uncommon in this market — most compact industrial touch PCs settle for low-power SoCs that limit software flexibility.

Intel Core i5 Industrial Compute Platform

The platform is built around the Intel® Core™ i5-1145G7E (Tiger Lake U) — a genuine industrial vPro embedded processor, not a low-power Atom or Celeron SoC. The i5-1145G7E offers full Intel Core architecture with significantly more compute performance, larger cache, faster memory subsystems, and better single-thread performance than the Atom and Celeron alternatives common in this product category. Paired with 8 GB DDR4 RAM and a 240 GB SSD (proper SSD, not eMMC), the platform handles demanding industrial software with margin to spare.

This compute spec matters operationally because modern industrial software is increasingly resource-intensive: browser-based HMI panels running multiple WebSocket connections, real-time data dashboards with high-frequency telemetry, computer-vision-augmented inspection software, AI-assisted predictive maintenance interfaces, and the multi-application workloads common in operator stations that simultaneously run SCADA clients, document management systems, and corporate productivity software. Atom-class platforms struggle with these workloads; the i5-1145G7E handles them as a workstation-class device should.

The 1145G7E is also a vPro processor, supporting Intel's enterprise remote management features (AMT, vPro Manageability Engine) — meaningful for IT teams managing fleets of industrial workstations remotely, particularly across geographically distributed facilities.

Operating System Options

Debian 12 ships pre-installed as standard (note: Pyramid Computer GmbH is not affiliated with Debian; Debian is a registered trademark owned by Software in the Public Interest, Inc.). Additional OS options available on request (with additional fee): Linux Ubuntu 22.4 LTS for the broader Ubuntu ecosystem alignment, Windows 10 for legacy Windows industrial software, and Windows 11 for current Windows commercial software. The Linux-first default reflects modern industrial deployment trends toward open-source OS platforms; Windows availability handles the substantial legacy of Windows-based industrial control software still in production.

Display – 9.7″ XGA in 4:3 Aspect Ratio

The display is a deliberate specification choice: 9.7″ across the diagonal, 1024×768 XGA resolution, and 4:3 aspect ratio. The 4:3 aspect is specifically meaningful for industrial HMI applications because:

  • Legacy software compatibility: Most industrial HMI software interfaces — SCADA clients, PLC programming environments, machine vision software, equipment control interfaces — were designed when 4:3 was the standard aspect ratio. Running these on widescreen displays creates unused screen real estate or stretched/distorted graphics. The 4:3 panel renders these interfaces correctly without compromise.
  • Compact deployment fit: 4:3 panels at this size are more compact in their long dimension than equivalent widescreen displays, fitting industrial enclosures and control panel cutouts designed for traditional aspect ratios.
  • Vertical screen utility: Industrial diagnostic tools, log readouts, and tabular data displays use vertical screen space efficiently — 4:3 provides more vertical pixels per inch than widescreen at the same diagonal.

Brightness is 300 cd/m², contrast 800:1, viewing angles 170°/170° — appropriate for indoor industrial environments under standard factory lighting. LED backlight lifetime is 20,000 hours, supporting continuous deployment though somewhat shorter than the 30,000–40,000 hour ratings on some faytech models. The 9.7″ display uses an LVDS interface internally.

Touch System

The 10-point projected capacitive multi-touch panel is built on 1.1 mm thermally strengthened cover glass with AG (chemical etching) anti-glare surface treatment, IK08 impact protection, and faytech's Clear Bond® optical bonding. The EXC81W60 touch controller communicates via USB. Touch resolution is 36 RX × 27 TX. The optical bonding eliminates the air gap between touch sensor and LCD panel, improving optical clarity, reducing reflections in industrial lighting, and increasing mechanical durability against operator impacts — critical for factory floor and operator station deployment.

Comprehensive Industrial Connectivity

Network: 2× 10/100/1000 Mbit Gigabit Ethernet RJ45 ports (Realtek® 8111H) supporting network segmentation common in industrial OT/IT separation. Wi-Fi via Intel® AC 3168 module with included RP-SMA female antenna. Power over Ethernet (PoE) is available upon request — meaningful for installations where running new AC power is impractical (retrofit installations, machinery mounting, ceiling-mounted operator stations).

USB: 2× USB 3.0 (high-speed peripherals: external storage, barcode scanners, high-bandwidth instruments) + 2× USB 2.0 (standard industrial peripherals).

Video Output: 1× HDMI + 1× DisplayPort for external display extension — useful for operator stations with both primary touch interface and secondary information displays.

Industrial Serial: 2× RS-232 COM ports (RX/TX only, DSUB9). The dual COM port specification matters for industrial integration: many industrial deployments require simultaneous communication with multiple legacy devices (PLC + barcode scanner, scale + label printer, machine controller + data logger). Two ports avoids the need for external serial expansion hardware. The pinout follows standard RS-232 convention: Pin 2 RXD1, Pin 3 TXD1, Pin 5/10/11 GND.

Additional connectors: 1× Audio In/Out (Realtek® ALC897 Audio CODEC), 1× SD card slot for local data logging and removable storage, 1× SIM card slot for cellular connectivity in installations where Wi-Fi/Ethernet isn't appropriate.

Modular Front Kit + Back Kit Design

This product implements faytech's modular Front Kit + Back Kit architecture:

  • 10″ Rubber Frame Front Kit: Contains the 9.7″ display panel, projected capacitive touch sensor, cover glass with Clear Bond® optical bonding, rubber frame structural assembly, and the IP65 sealing system.
  • Large IPC Back Kit (i5-1145G7E): Contains the Intel Core i5 compute platform, all external connectivity, network hardware, storage, and the aluminum IPC back case with passive thermal management fins (visible in the chassis design as the heat-dissipating side fins).

The two kits can be ordered pre-assembled (deployment-ready) or separately packaged (for OEM integration), connected through various standardized connectors. Independent replacement during service supports:

  • Compute platform refresh as Intel Core processor generations advance, without replacing the more expensive front kit
  • Field damage replacement of cracked cover glass without retiring the working back kit and configured OS image
  • OEM integration projects where custom enclosures house the back kit separately from the front kit
  • Service inventory optimization with separate kit stocking

Note: Front Kit + Back Kit assembly to be done by a professional to maintain IP65 seal integrity.

Mounting Options

  • VESA 100 × 100 mounting: Standard wall-mount arms, articulating mounts, monitor stands, and industrial pole mounts.
  • 4-clamp open-frame integration: Installation into custom kiosk enclosures, retail counters, industrial control panels, or built-in HMI positions via a 231.0 × 190.0 mm cut-out, secured by 4 clamps. Maximum clamp wall thickness is 5.0 mm.

Wide Power Input & Environmental
