The 7″ Capacitive Touch PC X6413E (Small Case) is the smallest member of faytech's Atom-based Small Case Touch PC family — engineered for deployment scenarios where a complete touch-enabled industrial PC needs to fit into the smallest possible footprint without compromising on connectivity or industrial-grade protection. At just 195.6 × 137.6 × 43.2 mm and ~1.70 kg, this is genuinely an ultra-compact all-in-one platform: complete with internal Intel Atom Quad-Core processor, 8 GB RAM, 120 GB SSD, dual Gigabit Ethernet, Wi-Fi, dual RS-232, four USB ports, and Full IP65 front protection — all in a chassis smaller than a standard sheet of paper.

This is the right product for deployments where space is the binding constraint: machinery operator interfaces where the available panel real estate is limited, OEM equipment integration where the touch PC must fit into the existing equipment enclosure, mobile equipment dashboards (vehicle cab installations, AGV operator stations, forklift terminals), space-constrained industrial control panels, kiosk applications where the PC must hide behind small kiosk openings, and any IoT/edge computing deployment that needs touch interaction at the device.

Intel Atom Industrial Compute Platform

The platform is built around the Intel® Atom® x6413E processor from Intel's Elkhart Lake family — a modern Quad-Core x86 SoC designed specifically for industrial IoT, edge computing, and dedicated-function commercial deployment. The Atom x6413E offers a deliberate balance of performance and power efficiency: enough compute headroom to run modern industrial software, web-based HMI applications, and the multi-tab browser stacks common in current commercial deployments, while keeping power consumption to just 12.3W total system draw — the lowest in any faytech Touch PC product.

Paired with 8 GB DDR4 RAM, a 120 GB SSD (proper SSD, not eMMC), the platform handles industrial control software, signage management systems, kiosk applications, and modern web frameworks without compromise — appropriate to the focused, dedicated-function workloads typical of compact industrial deployment.

Operating System Options

Debian 12 ships pre-installed as standard (note: Pyramid Computer GmbH is not affiliated with Debian; Debian is a registered trademark owned by Software in the Public Interest, Inc.). Additional OS options available on request (with additional fee): Linux Ubuntu 22.4 LTS for the broader Ubuntu ecosystem alignment, Windows 10 for legacy Windows industrial software, and Windows 11 for current Windows commercial software. The Linux-first default reflects modern industrial deployment trends toward open-source OS platforms.

Display Specifications

The 7″ display delivers 1024×600 WSVGA resolution across a 154.21 × 85.92 mm active area. Brightness is 500 cd/m² — substantially brighter than typical small industrial displays, supporting placement in well-lit machinery environments, vehicle cabs with windshield light intrusion, and bright industrial spaces where dimmer displays would wash out. Contrast is 800:1. Viewing angles are 160°/130° — narrower than larger panels, typical of small-format industrial displays, and appropriate to the focused operator-viewing pattern of compact HMI deployment. LED backlight lifetime is 20,000 hours.

Touch System

The 10-point projected capacitive multi-touch panel is built on 1.1 mm thermally strengthened cover glass with AG (chemical etching) anti-glare surface treatment, IK08 impact protection, and faytech's Clear Bond® optical bonding. The EXC81W60 touch controller communicates via USB. Touch resolution is 28 RX × 16 TX. The optical bonding eliminates the air gap between touch sensor and LCD panel, improving optical clarity, reducing reflections in industrial lighting, and increasing mechanical durability against operator impacts — particularly important for compact machinery-integrated deployments where the touch surface receives frequent operator contact.

Comprehensive Industrial Connectivity in a Compact Footprint

Despite the compact form factor, the platform provides full industrial connectivity:

Network: 2× 10/100/1000 Mbit Gigabit Ethernet RJ45 ports (Realtek® 8111H) supporting network segmentation common in industrial OT/IT separation. Wi-Fi via Intel® AC 3168 module with included RP-SMA female antenna. Power over Ethernet (PoE) is available upon request — particularly valuable for compact deployment where running both power and data cables can be difficult.

USB: 2× USB 3.0 (high-speed peripherals: external storage, barcode scanners, instruments) + 2× USB 2.0 (standard industrial peripherals).

Video Output: 1× HDMI + 1× DisplayPort for external display extension — meaningful for compact installations that may need to drive a secondary larger display while keeping the small touch panel as primary input.

Industrial Serial: 2× RS-232 COM ports (RX/TX only, DSUB9). The dual COM port specification is notable in a compact device — supports simultaneous communication with multiple legacy devices (PLC + scanner, controller + data logger). Standard RS-232 pinout: Pin 2 RXD1, Pin 3 TXD1, Pin 5/10/11 GND.

Additional connectors: 1× Audio In/Out (Realtek® ALC897 Audio CODEC), 1× SD card slot for local data logging and removable storage, 1× SIM card slot for cellular connectivity in installations where Wi-Fi/Ethernet isn't appropriate.

Modular Front Kit + Small IPC Back Kit Design

This product implements faytech's modular Front Kit + Back Kit architecture, with the Small IPC Back Kit (X6413E) — distinct from the Large IPC Back Kit (i5-1145G7E) used in the larger Core i5 Touch PC family:

  • 7″ Rubber Frame Front Kit: Contains the 7″ display panel, projected capacitive touch sensor, cover glass with Clear Bond® optical bonding, rubber frame structural assembly, and the IP65 sealing system.
  • Small IPC Back Kit (X6413E): Contains the Intel Atom x6413E compute platform, all external connectivity, network hardware, storage, and the aluminum IPC back case with passive thermal management fins. This is the same back kit shared across the Atom Small Case Touch PC family.

The two kits can be ordered pre-assembled (deployment-ready) or separately packaged (for OEM integration), connected through various standardized connectors. Independent replacement during service supports:

  • Compute platform refresh as Intel Atom processor generations advance, without replacing the front kit
  • Field damage replacement of cracked cover glass without retiring the working back kit and configured OS image
  • OEM integration projects where custom enclosures house the back kit separately from the front kit
  • Service inventory optimization with separate kit stocking — the shared Small IPC Back Kit across multiple front kit sizes simplifies fleet inventory management for organizations operating mixed-size Atom-based deployments

Note: Front Kit + Back Kit assembly to be done by a professional to maintain IP65 seal integrity.

Mounting

The 7″ Touch PC supports VESA 100 × 100 mm mounting — standard wall-mount arms, articulating mounts, and pole mounts. Note: Clamp-mount open-frame integration is not supported on this size (the chassis is too small to accommodate the clamp mechanism used on larger products). For machine-integrated installations requiring flush panel integration, custom OEM mounting via the VESA pattern is the recommended approach.

Power & Environmental

The platform runs on 12V DC, supplied by an included 100-240V AC active-switching adapter. Operating power consumption is just 12.3W — exceptionally efficient, supporting battery-backup deployment, vehicle electrical integration, and continuous 24/7 operation with negligible energy cost. Stand-by consumption is under 1W. Operating temperature range is -10°C to +60°C with 10–90% humidity tolerance, suitable for partially-conditioned industrial environments, machinery integration, and mobile equipment installations.
